THE WHOLE SHEBANG by Pat Cook

Comedy

4f / 4m / and an intern

I'm a drama teacher, Marge begins, which explains why she now is kept sedated and in a straight jacket. All I had to do was be in charge of the whole shebang. Of course, she is referring to The One Act Play Festival -- scheming rival students, demanding directors, irresponsible actors, missing props, stolen costumes, and all under forty minutes. What happened to the lady who ran it last year? She died under very suspicious circumstances. Adding to Marge's anxiety is the fact that two of the three competing schools are doing Hamlet and must rehearse on the same stage at the same time! Shakespearean skulls and battle axes fly in this fast-paced farce. Will Marge get this contest done before it undoes her?

PART DESCRIPTION:

Marge Dorsett - a 35 year old woman who's in charge of a One Act Play festival and a bit on edge.
Betty Hoskins - A teenager who is Marge's assistant. She is wise beyond her years.
Lila Braham - The drama coach from Parkly High. She's in her late forties and something of a she dragon.
Kathren Hoggadorn - About the same age as Lila. She's the drama coach from Slidell High.
Mark Hodges - The drama coach from Acme High, he is in his mid thirties and overly condescending.
Jeremy Cox - A teenager from Slidell who's portraying "Hamlet"
Miller Bentley - a teenage from Parkley High who's also portraying "Hamlet"
Mitch Frieland - A teenager from Acme, always in his character from "The Tell Tale Heart"
Intern - A hospital attendent. (Man or Woman - can be doubled with another part)

WHO'S ON FIRST by Abbott and Costello

Comedy

One of the most famous baseball comedy acts to ever take place was the humorous exchange between Bud Abbott and Lou Costello of "Who's on first, What's on second, and I Don't Know is on third." The general premise behind the exchange has Costello becoming a ballplayer and Abbott, the manager of the mythical St. Louis Wolves, making sure Abbott knows everyone's name on the team.

PART DESCRIPTION:

The Manager - Can be either sex. Anywhere between 20's - 40's

The Reporter - Can be either sex. Anywhere between 30's - 50's

The Umpire (an extra) Male - 30's - 40's
